Mine Is the Night - A Novel Book Review

Mine is the Night by Liz Curtis Higgs is a exciting interpretation of the biblical story of Ruth. Higgs is best known for her series, Bad Girls of the Bible. Although Mine is the Night is the sequel to her 2010 novel Here Burns My Candle, it is an easy to read book by itself.

Ruth's story is reflected in the main character, Elizabeth Kerr. She is recently widowed and chooses to embrace Christianity and because of that chooses to stay with her mother-in-law - Marjory Kerr. Like the Biblical story, these two begin with nothing but faith. The story takes place in Scotland and they are labeled as Jacobite traitors.

This book is a marvelous read. It has action, history, and of course romance. It gives you enough info to truly enjoy the story without making it seem like a required reading for history class.I couldn't put it down.

I loved this book. This was my first book by Liz Curtis Higgs, but guarantee it will not be my last. I give this book five Stars!!

I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review.
