Omega 3 Fish Oil - Triple Strength Review

I am very excited about this product. Along with most people, I am trying to take steps to live a healthier lifestyle. Obviously increasing my #Omega3 intake is one of the easiest steps to take. So when this offer came up, I was excited to try it because my Omega 3 Intake isn't what it should be.
If you are looking at this product, you already know the value of Omega 3 in your diet. Omega 3 Fish Oil by Quality Encapsulations is an exceptional product.

The daily intake is 2 pills, pretty standard. I am not found of the large pills, but the size is pretty much industry standard as well. What is really awesome about this product is that there is no fishy after taste or smell.

I have thrown away so many pills in the past for that reason. And I also love that these supplements are triple the standard dose.

I have only been taking these for about 10 days. I really feel like they are already making an impact in my health. I am pretty in tune to what my body is telling me and it is saying, 'thank you for these #Omega3 supplements'. My pocketbook is also thanking me. The cost is very reasonable for these supplements. Overall, a healthier diet is the best way to go. But for those of us who do not like fish or, like me, just can't properly cook fish, these Omega 3 Fish Oil supplements offer us what we are missing in our diet.

I received this product for my honest unbiased review.

The Copy: A Suspense Legal Thriller Novella Review

As many of you know, I am an avid reader. So when I was given the opportunity to read The Copy by Grant Boshoff, I said yes. I have not read anything by him before. The premise of the book is very intriguing.

The story is about a geneticist who is trying to retain the life he knows. He believes the solution is to clone himself. He soon realizes that cloning is not the solution and has only made things worse.

I enjoyed reading #TheCopy very much. The story was well written and thrilling. From the first page, I became engrossed in the story and couldn't put it down.

The Copy is available for Kindle (or you can get the printed version if preferred). This book is worth the price. I give it 5 stars.

I received this book for free in exchange for my unbiased review.

Something Borrowed Movie Review

Storyline
Friendships are tested and secrets come to the surface when terminally single Rachel falls for Dex, her best friend Darcy's fiancé.

I was able to attend a screening of Something Borrowed by Warner Brothers Studio. The movie is based the the book, Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin. This is a must see romantic comedy.

Ginnifer Goodwin plays Rachel who is the girl next door best friend to life of the party, Darcy played by Kate Hudson. Even Colin Egglesfield as Dex, the fiancé of Darcy and long time crush of Rachel, makes a believable addition to the love triangle. You cheer on Rachel and love to hate Darcy. Dex is the character all women can hate or love, depending on their own romantic situation. To me, the runaway star of this film is John Krasinski as Ethan the best guy friend of the girls since youth. His flawless humor and quick wit added so much to the movie that it went from ok to fabulous for me. He adds warmth, humor, and heart to the film. I had no idea that his was such a big part of the film. And without him, the film would definitely be mediocre.

The film is definitely a chick flick. But the surprising addition of Steve Howey (of Reba fame) as Marcus, Dex's best friend, makes the movie appeal to the men who were forced to attend by the women in their lives. Howey plays the ultimate male player and will have the guys going "right on" with every trophy attempt.

I definitely give this movie a thumbs up. Go see it. Something Borrowed opens in theaters May 6th.

I received my screening passes from NW32 and my opinions in this review are my own.

U is for UMI Shoe Review

We were so excited to see the UPS man today. A brand new pair of sandals by Umi Shoes arrived! I have no experience but I have heard wonderful praise for their product. So when I received the opportunity to review their shoes, I jumped at the chance.

I decided to choose a size for my grand daughter, Alexis. The shoes are in European sizes, but the comparison size chart is perfect. We chose the Tampico sandal in a two tone brown. Alexis was so excited to put them on her feet. She barely gave me time to take a picture.

The sandals have a double velcro strap at the ankle. The colors are like rich dark chocolate and milk chocolate intertwined. They are absolutely beautiful shades of brown. The style is perfect for the young lady who isn't a toddler anymore but not quite a "big" girl.

Umi Shoes believes that it takes years of experience to make a great pair of shoes. They also believe that caring for little feet also means caring for the earth. They have high standards for safety and durability and meet strict guidelines for child-safe materials. As well as being great shoes for your child, Umi Shoes are great for the environment.
Become a fan of Umi Shoes on Facebook and Follow Umi Shoes on Twitter to keep up with the latest on their shoes and little feet.

As you can see, the sandals are a fabulous fit and Alexis is an absolute diva about showing off her new footwear.

Mine Is the Night - A Novel Book Review

Mine is the Night by Liz Curtis Higgs is a exciting interpretation of the biblical story of Ruth. Higgs is best known for her series, Bad Girls of the Bible. Although Mine is the Night is the sequel to her 2010 novel Here Burns My Candle, it is an easy to read book by itself.

Ruth's story is reflected in the main character, Elizabeth Kerr. She is recently widowed and chooses to embrace Christianity and because of that chooses to stay with her mother-in-law - Marjory Kerr. Like the Biblical story, these two begin with nothing but faith. The story takes place in Scotland and they are labeled as Jacobite traitors.

This book is a marvelous read. It has action, history, and of course romance. It gives you enough info to truly enjoy the story without making it seem like a required reading for history class.I couldn't put it down.

I loved this book. This was my first book by Liz Curtis Higgs, but guarantee it will not be my last. I give this book five Stars!!

I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review.

All About Me

Good Morning and Happy April 1, 2011. And to all you little jokesters out there...be nice as you celebrate April Fool's Day!

Wish me luck! I am embarking on a challenge. It is the April A-Z Blogging Challenge. It is a challenge to post everyday with a different letter of the alphabet serving as the inspiration. Some of these letters are going to be tough! It's not to late to join! There are over 1000 Bloggers signed up. If you are looking for a new blog to follow, there is something here for everyone. Check out the button on the right!

I decided A was going to be ALL about me! I am also incorporating a book review in it as well because it was my inspiration. How many of us have succeeded in our new year's resolutions? You all have!?! Let's be honest. I haven't and I am pretty sure I'm not alone. I figure what better day to fool myself than April Fool's day. So I can shoot for the stars and blame it on being foolish.
So what is ALL me. I am really striving to be a better me! I am eating better (gotta lose some weight), starting an exercise routine, making better relation ships, and knowing myself better.

I received a book that inspired me to get in touch with me. It is Journey To You: A Step-by-Step Guide to Becoming Who You Were Born to Be, by Steve Olsher. The book is phenomenal. I usually don't buy self-help books and if I get one it generally sits on the bookshelf under anything so I don't have to read. This book is so different because it is so personal. There are some difficult challenges to follow. It makes you look at who you really are and not someone else's version. I just read the book, but I am going back to actually do the exercises.

As it would happen, Washington, D.C. has officially announced that Steve Olsher, author of USA Book News' 2010 "Self-Help Book of the Year,"
Journey To You: A Step-by-Step Guide to Becoming Who You Were Born to Be,has been appointed to the position of Director of the newly-created Department of Hope & Inspiration.

"We need a man like Steve Olsher at the helm of the government's initiative to
revitalize our people and leverage the strength of America's human capital to propel
our wonderful country back to the forefront of the world's stage," said President Obama.
If you get the chance, read it! You will be glad you did!
And now my challenge to you... Go out and discover who YOU ARE! You will thank yourself.

One To Grow On! Kids Audio Stories Review

One To Grow On! audio stories for kids by Trenna Daniells are absolutely charming cd sets that every parent should have. Grandparents too! Your child will want them all.

My children are grown with kids of their own. And I have the pleasure of being able to spend a considerable amount of time with them. I know how important reading is to children. But I am human and sometimes it is easier to let them watch that cartoon on tv or let them play 1 more video game when you're trying to get dinner on or any other necessary task. But with these cd's, we as parents can stop beating ourselves up.

There are 4 sets in the One To Grow On series. The series is color coded, which enables proper storage if you own more than 1 set. Each set consists of 4 stories on 2 cd's. Each set/color teaches a fundamental value, from exploring change to acceptance and how to be better people. The stories are told so that children find them fun and intriguing. Learning valuable lessons can be fun and Trenna Daniells does this with these stories.

My 4 year old grand daughter loves the stories. Her mom put one of the cd's in on a recent drive. Mom wasn't sure that Alexis was really getting anything out of the story. But she was shocked. Alexis was able to recite what was happening in the story. Kids love to listen to the stories. She wanted 'Mawka' to hurry up with them so she could have her stories back.

As well as offering the highest recommendation for these One To Grow On stories, this review is to let Alexis hear her stories again. Check here to listen. You'll be glad you did.

GLEE Bandwagon Here I Come!

OK. Everyone has heard of the FOX Network hit Glee. I have seen the show a few times and it has been enjoyable. It hasn't been one of those shows that I HAVE TO WATCH. But there have been a few. Can we say Rocky Horror!

But my daughter is a huge fan! And she made me listen to this song. I LOVE IT!
Especially in today's society when we are bombarded with reports of bullying. Kids every where are being persecuted because they are different and considered losers. These kids on Glee are considered losers because they are in a glee club and have taken their share of hard knocks because of their individuality.

Please take a moment to listen to the words of this song. It is an upbeat song that speaks to all about the label of being called a "Loser". This 'line steppin, country luvin grandma can't get the song out of my head.

Different doesn't make us losers. Thinking you are better than everybody does.

BuildASign.com Review

I was so exited to be contacted by Melissa at BuildASign BuildASign.com. I was offered a personalized item of my choice to review. Well, since I am organizing a family reunion, I thought this was a no brainer. I ordered the 3' x 5' banner.

And WOW!!! It is perfect.

I love the easy to use design tool. I went to Vinyl Banners and the design tool let me construct my banner with my own logo that I designed for the reunion. Be prepared to adjust your image when you order a large item, such as a banner. Melissa at BuildASign was extremely helpful. She notified me of the need to readjust the pixels on my design in order to view a clear image on my banner. In reality, so many companies don't care after you click that submit button.

The banner is made of a very durable vinyl. It has grommets on both the top and bottom corners for easily securing the banner when using. As a mom, everything goes through the "kid" test. I let the grand kids tug and pull till they are tired. The banner survived better than the kids.

There are so many products available. Whether you are an artist or a dreamer, with the versatile design tool, the designer in you is easy to find. Be sure to check out BuildASign.com. I strongly recommend them for all of your sign printing needs.

The Chasm Book Review

The Chasm - A Journey to the Edge of Life by Randy Alcorn was not what I expected. Or rather not what I expected from Randy Alcorn.

The story is a timeless tale of our physical life's journey toward our spiritual everlasting life in heaven. Although I completely enjoyed the the imagery of the tale and the unique perspective of good verses evil and choosing the right path, I was expecting a suspenseful and a considerably more complex story.

The story is of Nick Seagrave beginning his journey toward “the distant shining city”, Charis. In order to get there, he needs to find the way across a huge chasm that lies between him and the city. He travels with Shadrach, a classic take on hard work and difficult path until he meets Joshua. Joshua offers the "easy" road. And Nick's struggle begins.

The book is enjoyable. I believe it will be enjoyed more by the new follower of Alcorn's writing. I think those who have read several of Alcorn's books might feel let down. The Chasm is a fresh approach to taking the right path.

I received the book, The Chasm, free for review from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group

Stride Everyday Review and Giveaway

Last week I was given the privilege of trying a new product called Stride Everyday. Stride Everyday is an undergarment that provides discreet, extra protection against embarrassing leaks. This product is revolutionary as the extra protection is sewn into the underwear.

Stride Everyday was developed by Wendy Spencer. She suffered with embarrassing leakage all her life. Pregnancy and childbirth worsened her condition. Even the simple changes in her body as she grew older worsened her condition. Wendy looked for a solution to the problem that was better than bulky pads. Something that was more comfortable and more environmentally friendly.

The patented OQUOS technology behind Stride Everyday is unique. The top microfiber layer wicks away moisture. The second layer works at deodorizing and preventing odors and absorbs the moisture. The bottom layer prevents leaks. The amazing Thing about the OQUOS technology is that it can absorb a full ounce of liquid.

There are perfectly comfortable for regular wear. They look and feel pretty.

There are several styles available:

•French Cut Brief
•Mid-Rise Brief
•Seamless
•Sport Bikini
•Lace Thong

I personally have the lacy thong. And any woman who wears a thong knows the discomfort in trying to use a liner of any kind. The fact that the extra protection is sewn into the panty provides a very comfortable fit and feel. I am excited to get myself more of these. I have stopped running over the years because of my problem with leakage. As a honest testament to these panties, they worked great when took them out for a run. I think most women will want to have these as a part of their wardrobe.

You can purchase Stride Everyday on their website . Right now, you can save 30% on orders over $35. This offer expires on March 31,2011. Use the code STRIDE818

A Conversation with God for Women Book Review

"If you could ask God any question, what would it be?" The book A Conversation with God for Women written by Marcia Ford answers that question. The author puts you in a round table conversation to ask God, as well as the input of several influential women of the bible, 55 questions that are relative to our spiritual and physical lives.

The single thing that I enjoyed most about this book, was that it was non-denominational. I grew up Catholic...12 years of Catholic school. At times, you feel like you are doing what you do out of habit and not with a real purpose. I believe your spiritual life should have a purpose. The book helps to make that point. Marcia Ford asks the questions that are relative to women in our daily lives. Not just questions about the bible and prayer, but of relationships and families and forgiveness.

I believe that this is a book for everyone. Those strong in faith can benefit by the book. To reaffirm your faith and beliefs is always a good thing. Those who feel like they are in spiritual limbo will benefit as well. In the book, God is very clear that your relationship with him is between you and him. For those who are searching, this is definitely a book to read. It covers the basics principles that seem to be the first thing to scare people off like church and prayer. And does it in such a way that you feel you want God in your life.

A Conversation with God for Women is a well written dialogue between you and your best friend. The note section at the end of the book offers scripture to enhance each question. I believe this book would make a wonderful reference guide for any women's group. I give this book 5 stars.

Beastly

I was able to score a couple of screening tickets for the new movie Beastly. It is the classic Beauty and the Beast story with a modern twist. It stars Alex Pettyfer, Vanessa Hudgens, Mary-Kate Olsen, and Neil Patrick Harris. The movie opens this Friday in theaters.

I wish I could say, run out and see it but I can't. It is a definite wait for it to come out on dvd movie. I thought Alex Pettyfer started out strong. In the first ten minutes of the film, he made you think wow what a jerk. This is gonna be good. But the rest of his performance couldn't hold up. The beast's look was very good. It was a unique interpretation and one that is easy to connect with in today's society.

Enter Vanessa Hudgens. She is pretty. But there isn't a lot of talent behind that constant smile and smoldering eyes. There is no depth to her. Her character had plenty of depth, Hudgens didn't have the ability to pull it off. I feel that she sabotages Pettyfer's performance. I did enjoy seeing Mary-Kate Olsen as the witch. Also not a great performance, but she at least she was believable as her character.

My favorite performance was by Neil Patrick Harris as the blind tutor. Every time the man was on screen, his wit and charm had the entire audience captivated. His performance was entertaining and worth my time in the theater.

The story line had big holes in it and sprinkled in a little of this and a little of that so it would resemble the fairy tale. The problem with filming a modern day fairy tale, is that everyone knows the story. The writers get lazy and give the audience an incomplete storyline.

The movie is rated PG-13. It is not the fairy tale that your little ones would enjoy. But the tween and the teen crowd will enjoy the movie as they did at the screening. Between the non-execution of a really good classic story and the absolutely wrong choice for the heroine, I give the film 2 stars for trying.

Too Sexy For My Shirt

Ok Ok! Who are we fooling here? But I did get your attention, didn't I?

Martin at TSHIRT PRINTING.net sent me one of their t-shirts to try out.
When I opened the package, my first thought was, "Kewl, it's a monkey." I know the spelling is off, but for those who know me, it's kinda my catch phrase...spelling and all. Anyway, you want the dirt on the shirt so to speak.

Right out of the box. Bright and vivid colors.

I ordered a large shirt. Past that, I get what I get for the review. And I was impressed. First the quality of the shirt was better than I expected. It is a 90%, heavy cotton shirt with the cutsie monkey silk screened on the front. The length was good. When you get a t-shirt, you want it long enough so that with every move, you don't risk showing skin. Another plus, the design was centered. Also the quality of the stitching was good. All the seams were double stitched. In the past, I have ordered lots of shirts for kids' groups. And the quality of the shirts had not been the best quality. I wish I knew about
TSHIRT PRINTING.net then because these shirts would definitely hold up to some heavy kid use.

The Shirt.

But who are kidding! Isn't everything better when it's brand new? So I had to do the dreaded wash test. Everyone has their own preference, but because the shirt was silk screened, I turned it inside out and washed in warm water and a cool dryer. I couldn't be happier with the garment. It came out of the dryer looking brand new. The shape was still good. The seams were in tact. The silk screened image wasn't cracked at all. I was a little concerned about the cracked image because the screening was thicker than on any of those trendy shops all over the mall. But then we all know how well those hold up to wear.

Right out of the dryer. Colors still vibrant!

If you check out their website, TSHIRT PRINTING.net has a no nonsense, easy to navigate site. They have their product line organized and clearly defined. I was impressed that they will do small quantities as well as large quantities. Of course with special orders, prices are based on what the customer needs.

This is definitely a company that gets a thumbs up!

God Gave Us So Much Book Review

I received the book, God Gave Us So Much, free for review from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group. The book is from Lisa Tawn Bergren. This book is actually a limited-edition three-book treasury. The three stories included are God Gave Us The World (which I have previously reviewed), God Gave Us Love, and God Gave Us Heaven. Lisa again uses a polar bear family as the center of her stories.

Once again, the illustrations are by Laura J. Bryant. Her artistic recreation of the stories are bright and colorful. Young children find the pictures entertaining.

The second story, God Gave Us Love, the story is told by the grandpa bear. He shows the polar cub how big God's love is. It touches on the different types of love, and how they are all important. I was amused at how the love between a mama and papa was portrayed. Exactly the way child would perceive their parents' love. But ultimately, how big God's love is.

The third story, God Gave Us Heaven, the papa is teaching the polar cub the lesson. This story was a little more difficult for me to read because of my sister's recent death. But the reaction of my grand daughter when I explained why I had tears, "it's ok...you will see her again" made me realize that kids get what Lisa is saying. The story touches on death, heaven, and eternity without putting a fear in children.

There are 3 more stories in the series. I give this book 5 stars. I would encourage you to pick at least one of Lisa Tawn Bergren's books to read to your child.
Please be sure to rank my review below. Thank you.
