I made a huge posting booboo. I had started my review for Umi Shoes a while ago and saved a draft so that I could post it for U in the Z-A Challenge. But it posted for last month instead of today. Gotta figure out how to schedule my posts. Anyway for those who follow daily and missed it, here is the review.
Today's post is more of a challenge. How do you fill a void in your life? Everyone has a different tool that they use. Some fill their voids with destructive behavior while others use intelligent stimulation to fill their voids.
It got me thinking. I used to fill the void with useless computer games. But seriously! How fulfilling is planting another corn stalk on a fake farm? I try to fill my time with more constructive projects. I now subject you, my readers, to my personal insight. HaHa!!
No really. There is a void in a mom's life when her children grow and leave the nest. This void leads to a rediscovery of who she is as a person. That is what I have been doing with my "void". I find that blogging has made me more aware of who I am as an individual person. It has also brought me back to some of my favorite hobbies. Reading, Photography, and Crafting.
Today's post goes out as a thank you to all of my followers. I love that you take time out of your day to see what I have to say today or leave a note how my post has touched you. Have a great day!!!
I happened to be watching an old Flinstone cartoon with the kids and thought - "Hey, here's my 'Y' word." So thought I would do a little research.
Yabba-Dabba-Doo, is the catchphrase of Fred Flinstone, the patriarch of the Flinstone cartoons. I found that the phrase was actually adapted from a old Brylcream jingle - "A Little Dab'll Do Ya!")
Even more interesting is the definition from the Urban Dictionary. As this is a family blog, check out the meaning of Yabba-Dabba-Doo for yourself!
My life is absolutely zany. Watching the grand kids off and on for weeks and realize this is why I had kids when I was younger. I love the little buggers, but I have gotten really accostomed to my routines.
Don't you just love this graphic. This is how I feel!
Anyway, here's the start to a new blog challenge. This time it is from Z-A. Check the link on the side to join or click the buttons below to follow any of the participating blogs.
I was able to attend a screening of Something Borrowed by Warner Brothers Studio. The movie is based the the book, Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin. This is a must see romantic comedy.
The film is definitely a chick flick. But the surprising addition of Steve Howey (of Reba fame) as Marcus, Dex's best friend, makes the movie appeal to the men who were forced to attend by the women in their lives. Howey plays the ultimate male player and will have the guys going "right on" with every trophy attempt.
I definitely give this movie a thumbs up. Go see it. Something Borrowed opens in theaters May 6th.
I received my screening passes from NW32 and my opinions in this review are my own.
I am not a morbid woman nor do I wish any one harm. But my heart is rejoicing over the news that Bin Laden is dead. The evil that came from pure hatred has devastated so many lives. There is finally some closure for so many.
But I believe we should watch our backs. We should offer more prayers and support for our troops. The next couple of months could get really ugly. We have hurt them. We have taken their symbol. They will want revenge. Let us all be on watch so that we are prepared.
